How sunless tanners help cure acne and how to apply them?

Compared to any kind of sun or ultraviolet light-induced tanning which damage skin sunless tanners are especially safe. Sunless tanners contain dihydroxyacetone as an active ingredient, which is safe and non-toxic. It exerts its action within the inert top layer of skin to achieve the visible color.

Sunless tanners may be used on the face and body and is safe for acne-prone skin. It removes any dry, dead skin cells leaving your skin in perfect condition.

Keep the following things in mind while applying sunless tanners for effective treatment for acne.

Avoid shaving

Avoid shaving right before applying sunless tanners to avoid irritation.

Lighten up

Apply in advance baby oil, gel or lotion to places like your knees and elbows. Then use sunless tanner.

Avoid streaking

Getting wet too soon after applying sunless tanners may result in streaks. So after applying sunless tanners wait for at least two hours or so, before swimming, showering or bathing.

Avoid orange hands

When applying sunless tanners you may get orange hands. To avoid it use disposable gloves which you can get from a dime or wholesale store. Also, wash hands and fingernails after application.

Eliminate dead skin

You can eliminate dead skin through washing or exfoliating before applying sunless tanning products.

How to apply

Start working on a small area. Rub in the product generously in even manner. Reach out to other areas in a swirling rather than going in an up-and-down direction. But still be gentle and maintain even rub. Use a sponge paint roller or sponge paintbrush for applying to your back. Be slow and steady when applying sunless tanner.
