Yasmin for adult acne is a new form of oral contraceptive that people commonly call “the pill”. It is a low-dose, monophasic oral contraceptive birth control pill, which contains estrogen and drospirenone. Yasmin for adult acne contains ethinylestradiol. The effect of ethinylestradiol on skin has been evaluated in women with mild to moderate facial acne. A positive effect on acne and seborrhea was observed, with the median acne lesion count decreasing by 62.5% from baseline to cycle 9, whilst seborrhea decreased by 25.1%.

One pill of yasmin contains a progestin very similar to that produced by the ovaries. Yasmin for adult acne has an excellent anti-male hormone effect on skin. This pill has anti-male hormone activity and reduces oil production.

Yasmin for adult acne has been proved to effectively clear acne in women by suppressing the overactive sebaceous glands. It can be used as long-term acne therapy. Estrogens in it decrease sebum production by lowering levels of luteinizing hormone (LH) and increasing the sex hormone binding globulin (SHBG). This in turn lowers testosterone, thus reducing the drive of the oil glands that are responsible for acne to produce excess oil. For treating acne, progesterones in it produce little or no androgens.
